Popular Arewa TikTok users Aisha Zaki and Suddenly take supremacy battle to another level

Two popular TikTok users from northern Nigeria Aisha Zaki and Suddenly have gone physical in their battle for supremacy.

The duo have between them about 250,000 followers on the app which gained popularity during the COVID-19-induced lockdown globally last year as people found new ways of keeping themselves happy.

BBC Pidgin learnt that Suddenly was traced to her house and beaten up by some ladies. A video of the incident also went viral.

Aisha Zaki later released a video on TikTok praising those who attacked her counterpart. She also threatened Suddenly that more was on the way. Suddenly, however, made a video a day later, saying she was not afraid of anyone.

Speaking with the news platform about the fight which has lasted over a year, Bashir Bala, a Tiktok user, said: “In my opinion, this fight between Aisha Zaki and Suddenly is just battle for who is more popular on Tiktok.

“At first two of them started by boasting to each other about what they have and later they started abusing each other because Aisha Zaki is based in Saudi Arabia and works there.”

He called on authorities to intervene to prevent escalation of the matter.

Lawal Fagge, spokesman of Sharia police, Kano State Hisbah Board, did not respond to the news outlet’s requests for comments.

Spokesman of the Kano State Police Command Abdullahi Haruna said the incident is being investigated.
