Lagos first female deputy speaker Adetoun Adediran

The first female deputy speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Adetoun Adediran has died, spokesperson of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Seye Oladejo confirmed on Wednesday.

Adediran died early Wednesday after a brief illness.

She made history when she was elected as the state’s first female deputy speaker from 1999 to 2003.

Mr Oladejo told PUNCH that she was a “consummate politician.”

Adediran was also a former women leader of the All Progressive Congress, Lagos chapter.
