Cross River governor Ben Ayade has suspended the statewide curfew he ordered in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.
His spokesman Linus Obogo on Saturday disclosed that the 14-month-old restriction has been lifted.
Cross River, like many states of the federation, witnessed the massive looting and destruction of property as enraged citizens turned against public officials and facilities on allegations of years of deprivation and police brutality.
The two weeks’ historic demonstrations had been peaceful before state forces moved to forcefully quell it, sparking mass resistance.
The Cross River government says movement is no longer restricted in the state at any time.
