On Monday, the aviation union was closed on charges by Arik Air employees.

The union said Arik Air has not paid workers’ wages since April, as 90% of workers have laid off forced layoffs and other anti-employment measures.

These unions include the National Air Transport Workers ‘Union (NUATE) and the Nigeria Senior Air Transport Workers’ Association (ATSSSAN).

All Arik Air operations in Lagos have been discontinued, NAN said.

Air Branch told NAN that it decided to shut down Arik’s nationwide operations when workers were unable to resolve the issue.

Atasi said the union was misunderstood because 90% of workers had not received their wages since April after taking leave.
